Emergency Roof Repairs with Flex Seal Products

Today we’re going to put Flex Seal to the test by fixing the most dreaded household problem: the roof leak. When heavy rain enters into your home, it can ruin ceilings, walls, foundations, and even worse, you can later find mold in the house. Luckily, with Flex Seal Spray, you can fix the problem fast.

In the video below, we simulate some realistic storm damages, including missing shingles, holes in the roof and driving rain. Then we demonstrate how you can quickly use Flex Seal Products to stop the leak and prevent further damage to the interior of your home.

Emergency Roof Repair with Flex Seal Spray

1. Ensure the area is safe and use proper safety equipment.  Wipe off any dirt or dust from your surface. If the dirt is a little hard to get off, wipe the surface down with a damp rag and cleaning solution. Depending on your project type, you may need painter’s tape to section off the areas you’re looking to treat. If there’s any rust on your surface, sand it off before moving ahead. Sanding your surface will increase adhesion for Flex Seal.

2. Shake that can vigorously for about a minute. Then aim the nozzle at the damaged area and spray it in a sweeping motion from a distance of 8 to 12 inches.

3. Take your time to focus on those holes and the larger surrounding area around them and feather the edges.

Because this is such an important job, you’re probably going to want to come back and put on another coat, but we’re going to let this one dry first. The Flex Seal looks dry, but it’s always good to touch it to make sure it’s not tacky, but nice and firm.
