What Helps Flex Seal Dry Faster?

While Flex Seal Spray cures naturally on its own, there are a few ways to help speed up the drying process, without compromising performance.

The following can help Flex Seal dry faster:

  • Use thin coats: Several light layers will dry much faster than one thick, heavy coat. Make sure each coat is dry to the touch before applying additional coats.
  • Apply in warm temperatures: Flex Seal can be applied to surfaces between 0-100°F; however, the warmer the surface, the faster it will cure.
  • Improve airflow: Increase air circulation by using fans or opening windows in indoor spaces.
  • Low humidity: Apply on dry, low-humidity days if possible.
  • Sunlight (for outdoor jobs): Natural warmth from sunlight will speed up the skinning and curing time.

Flexpert Tip: Don’t try to use a heat gun or hair dryer to rush the process, as it can cause the product to bubble, crack, or cure unevenly.

Patience pays off. Giving Flex Seal the right conditions to cure naturally will result in a strong, watertight seal and the best long-term performance.
