How to apply Flex Shot

Whether you’re sealing up cracks, filling gaps, or tackling small home repairs, Flex Shot® is an excellent solution for creating a strong, waterproof seal with no need for a caulking gun. But how do you get the best results? In this guide, we’ll walk you through how to apply Flex Shot step-by-step, so your next project turns out smooth, durable, and long-lasting.

Step 1: Prep Your Surface

Before applying Flex Shot, make sure the surface is completely clean, dry, and free of dirt, grease, or oil. This helps the product adhere properly and ensures a secure seal. Wipe down the area with a clean cloth and, if necessary, a mild cleaner.

Step 2: Cut the Nozzle and Position the Can

Before applying, you'll need to cut the nozzle at the desired width. The closer to the tip you cut, the thinner the bead will be—cutting lower will produce a thicker bead. Use a utility knife or scissors to make a clean, angled cut for a more precise application.

Once the nozzle is cut, and you're in a well-ventilated area, hold the can of Flex Shot at a 45-degree angle. This angle gives you better control and helps create a smoother, more even bead.

Step 3: Apply Flex Shot

Gently press on the nozzle to release the product and apply it directly to the area you're sealing. Move the can in a steady, even motion to create a consistent bead. The slower you go, the thicker the bead will be, so adjust your speed depending on how much coverage you need.

Step 4: Smooth and Shape

Smooth the bead with your finger or a tool to press it deep into cracks and shape it exactly how you want. Be sure to do this quickly after application, as Flex Shot will begin to form a skin in about 10 minutes. Use a dry paper towel to remove any excess Flex Shot while it's still wet.

Step 5: Let It Dry

Flex Shot starts to set quickly. It will form a tack-free skin within about 20 minutes, and it will be dry to the touch soon after. For best results, allow the product to fully cure for 24 hours, but dry times can vary depending on the temperature and humidity levels.

Flex Shot is a powerful, easy-to-use sealant that helps you take on quick fixes and DIY projects with confidence. By following these simple steps, you’ll get a professional-looking seal every time.
