How to apply Flex Seal Liquid

Looking for some tips on how to apply Flex Seal Liquid? Follow these steps and you’ll be sealin’ in no time!

Note: Before using Flex Seal Liquid, read all directions carefully. Ventilation is recommended, so open doors and windows when working with the product.

How To Brush or Roll on Flex Seal Liquid

  1. Start with a clean, dry surface.  If your surface is rusty, remove as much rust as possible using a scraper or wire brush, then clean the surface so it is free from any dirt, oil, or debris.
  2. Open the can and stir Flex Seal Liquid with a stirring stick. Do not shake the can.
  3. Apply Flex Seal Liquid to the areas that need to be repaired. Always try to cover a larger area than the expected source of the leak.
  4. Let it dry for 24-48 hours. If light passes through any holes, it needs another coat. Make sure the first coat is dry before adding additional coats. If you press the area and it’s soft, it’s not dry yet.

Flexpert Tip: You can pour Flex Seal Liquid into a paint tray and put the lid back on the can to keep the product from drying out while sealing the desired areas.

How To Dip Tools in Flex Seal Liquid

  1. Clean the surface so it’s free from any grease, oil, or dirt.
  2. Etch the tool surface using sandpaper or steel wool for better adhesion.
  3. Place the handle directly into the Flex Seal Liquid and remove the handle slowly, allowing any excess product to drip onto a paint tray or disposable drop cloth.
  4. Hang or clip the object in the same vertical position it was in while being dipped and let it dry for 24-48 hours before using the tool.

Flexpert Tip: Remember to always replace the lid of the can to keep Flex Seal Liquid fresh.

How To Pour Flex Seal Liquid

  1. Pour Flex Seal Liquid directly on the surface, allowing it to seep into cracks, holes, and hard-to-reach areas. Continue to pour until all cracks and holes have been filled.
  2. Let it dry for 24-48 hours.
