Can I Spray Flex Seal in the Cold?
Cold weather doesn’t mean repairs have to stop. Flex Seal Spray can be applied to surface temperatures ranging from 0°F to 100°F, making it a reliable option for many fall and winter projects.
Once fully cured, Flex Seal Spray can withstand temperatures from -20°F to 140°F, helping maintain a strong, flexible seal even as conditions change. However, colder temperatures can slow drying and curing time, which is why proper preparation and application are especially important.
To apply Flex Seal Spray in cold conditions, follow these steps:
1. Check the Surface Temperature
Ensure the area you’ll be spraying is 0°F or higher and expected to remain within the application range during drying.
2. Prep the Surface
Remove any dirt, grease, oil, moisture, and loose debris. This will help improve adhesion.
3. Shake the Can
Shake well before and during use to ensure an even spray.
4. Apply Light, Even Coats
Hold the can 8–12 inches away and spray in smooth, controlled passes. Make sure each coat is dry before applying additional coats.
5. Allow Extra Drying Time
Cooler temperatures may require an extended curing time.
