The best part is that the Flex Seal® Family of Products can help your basket last so it can be a part of your Halloween decor for years to come! Read on for step-by-step instructions on how to make your own.

Materials

● 1 Flex Seal spray can, black

● 1 Flex Seal spray can, terracotta

● 1 Flex Glue 4oz squeeze tube, clear

● Apple basket

● Large pipe cleaners

● Wire cutter

● Large googly eyes

● Painter’s tape

● Tarp

Note: Before using Flex Seal products, read all directions and take proper safety precautions, such as being in a well-ventilated area and wearing protective gear while applying.

Steps

1. Spray Basket With Flex Seal Black

Place the basket upside down on a tarp in a well-ventilated area. Shake the can of Flex Seal black and spray the basket 8” to 12” from the surface using even sweeping motions. Turn and rotate the basket as you spray, being sure to get all sides as well as the small nooks and crannies. Once completely covered, set to dry.

Once dry, flip the basket over and repeat the same process inside and on the top of the basket until it is completely covered.

2. Cut Pipe Cleaner Legs and Prep

Divide the large pipe cleaners into eight equal-sized legs and cut using a wire cutter or sharp scissors. Fold the pipe cleaners into themselves before cutting to make sure they’re all the same length.

Next, place each leg in a row on the trap so that all the legs are lined up and not overlapping each other. Try to straighten them out as much as possible.

Then, shake your can of  Flex Seal terracotta, spray stripes on the legs in a continuous sweeping motion, and set to dry.

Flip each leg over and repeat spraying the stripes. Set to dry.

3. Make the Legs

Gather and thread four pipe cleaner legs through each side of the basket. Then glue them into place using Flex Glue Clear.

Flexpert Tip: Shape and manipulate the pipe cleaners until they mimic the shape of spider legs.

4. Make the Eyes

Create an eyelid on each googly eye by laying painters tape over ⅓ of the front of the eye. Press the edges down well with your fingers.

Shake your can of Flex Seal terracotta well and spray in a sweeping motion 8"-12"  from the eye, making sure to fully coat the eye. Allow 24 hours for Flex Seal to dry.

Once dry, slowly peel off the painters tape, leaving a terracotta-colored eyelid.

Flexpert Tip: It’s the small details like this that will take all your DIY projects to the next level!

5. Finish the Look

Complete the look of your DIY Halloween basket by using Flex Glue Clear to adhere the eyes into place on the front center of the basket.

Flexpert Tip: When gluing, apply firm pressure continuously for a minimum of 30 seconds for Flex Glue's instant grab to take hold.

Now all that's left to do is to fill your new basket with plenty of Halloween goodies!
